Background
In today’s world, people around the globe struggle to get the minerals their bodies need for health and vitality. Vital minerals like magnesium, calcium, and zinc play critical roles in maintaining balance, yet they are often missing from modern diets. Unlike vitamins, minerals aren’t produced by our bodies—they must come from external sources like water and food. Yet standard mineral supplements often fall short: they are inorganic, less bioavailable, and can even pose health risks when not appropriately absorbed.
The Challenge
To address this problem, Kind partnered with Matter to develop a name, visual identity, and packaging concept that convey the importance of minerals in their purest form. The focus became clear: explaining why minerals matter. Scientific studies have shown that free ions—minerals in water—are more readily absorbed than solid foods, such as milk or bananas. Calcium in water, for instance, boasts a bioavailability of 84%, while in milk it’s just 35%. Similarly, magnesium is absorbed at 92% in water compared to only 29% in a banana. For Matter, delivering these minerals in the most bioavailable form meant harnessing water’s power to do what food often can’t.
The Solution
Matter developed Mineral Release Technology, an innovative, patented process that introduces essential minerals into drinking water in their most absorbable form: free ions. This technology generates fresh mineral ions when water comes into contact with a mineral module, which emits a faint blue light as it powers up, symbolizing the pure energy from the water itself—no batteries, no added energy sources, just water, and minerals. The replaceable module, effective for six months, ensures continued mineral absorption in a way that is both sustainable and efficient.
