Ryan Watts’ Student Concept for Beelieve Honey Brand Celebrates F1 Legacy and Bee Conservation

Ryan Watts’ Student Concept for Beelieve Honey Brand Celebrates F1 Legacy and Bee Conservation

Beelieve is a proposal for a new honey brand, created for Sebastien Vettel. Vettel is known for his philanthropic work and awareness of environmental issues, and has a keen interest in bees – having installed a bee hotel on the Suzuka circuit in 2023.

Beelieve strives to be at the forefront of the battle for the security and long-term health of the honey bee, by developing a sustainable bee population close to Vettel’s home city of Heppenheim, helping biodiversity in the area. The brand would also promote the health benefits of honey to an audience that might traditionally use sugar-based products to sweeten food.

The brand takes both the preservation of honey bees and the reduction of waste into the environment seriously. This has encouraged the production of a high quality, fully sustainable and recyclable product.

Inspired by multiple chapters of Vettel’s life, the visual identity aims to reflect that of both his F1 career and his life long battle for the protection of the environment.

The ‘bee’ within the wordmark, is made from the layout of a piece of track that is formed to the shape of an ‘e’. This was then reflected to achieve the bee like form. Connecting pieces of type with beveled corners aim to visually represent the many tracks that Vettel has raced on, again, showing off the many successes he has had within F1.

The number 5 is synonymous with Sebastien Vettel as it is the number he has raced with, from his childhood starting out in karting and then throughout his F1 career.

The lid makes use of a textured chequered pattern to aid grip but to reference Vettel’s legacy within F1.

The embossing on the glass jar takes the shape of an abstracted F1 track – making use of straight and curved lines to provide a bespoke, relevant pattern.
