This project of mine is a creative work based on research, it was presented to the client but was not realised.However, I would like to submit it for the WBDS award because I believe it represents an example of brand identity with an ethical approach, close to people. The vision of the world is changing and to create visual identities that are more sustainable and ethical is where humanity is at the centre of the strategy.
OLEI is an association of Italian olive growers in the Umbria region who produce high quality extra virgin olive oil with registered master millers and true artisans.
The logo is very simple and stands for Oleifici Locali Esperti e Intenditori. (Experienced Local Oil Producers and Connoisseurs). the logo is the strength of the identity, elegant white and stands out against the black bacground. the black colour helps to identify a high quality product/oil and the packaging was made from recycled paper in respect of nature.
Authenticity, passion and transparency in a single sign that, as it rotates, humanises itself and becomes a strong graphic sign, as ancestral as the symbiosis between land and man is strong.
Olive trees are living matter and their gnarled trunks speak to us of life, they are made of the same natural movements as the wrinkles on the worker’s face. The years mark the experience of every single olive grower and every year their heart beats with every olive harvest, sometimes tiring and uncertain, but then the uncertainty passes and the tiredness goes away and the emotions remain and grow together with the products and the passion of these olive growers.
The visuals and photos of the OLEI association are represented by the olive growers themselves in the first person with their real faces marked by hard work. We trust them because they put their face to it and we are sure of the quality of the product.
