Rebranding of Junyi Academy by doctor design: Shaping a Vision of Unity and Light in Education

Junyi Academy is a free online learning platform offering quality resources for elementary to high school students. Through technology, it provides tailored teaching and learning paths, empowering teachers, parents, and students alike to engage in effective, personalized education. As Junyi Academy enters its seventh year, with the expansion of our internal team and the growing demand to address educational trends externally, we have decided to reexamine every aspect of our brand. This will provide Junyi Academy with a clearer direction and a more consistent language to accelerate our impact.

The logo of Junyi Academy features two beams of light extending from the ground to the sky, intersecting with each other. “Light” is chosen as the core concept because Junyi Academy is dedicated to education, aiming to illuminate every child. Light also symbolizes inclusivity, echoing Junyi Academy’s vision: to provide every child with the opportunity to become a lifelong learner. And the intersecting X symbolizes the meaning of “unity.” Junyi Academy believes that education is a team effort. It’s not just about the power of Junyi Academy’s educational technology; it also requires collaboration with other positive forces such as non-profit organizations, scholars, businesses, and governments to truly achieve and illuminate every child.

The most remarkable points:
1.Retain key features from the original logo in the new design for continuity in brand memorability.
2.Using the symbol of ‘light’ to strengthen the brand image, replacing the previously ambiguous logo.
3.Utilizing a more legible font while ensuring the typography aligns with the logo’s design.

After rebranding, the academy hosts annual brand events, continuously enhancing its visibility and impact. In 2022, Junyi received the Presidential Innovation Award. In 2023, President Tsai Ing-wen was invited to a brand event to discuss national education strategies.

Four years after the rebranding, even amidst the COVID-19 pandemic, the number of users of the Junyi Academy’s educational app continued to grow, and donations also kept increasing. The rebranding has made the organization’s operations smoother!
