Lalu Interactive Packaging Design Concept for “Ciento y la Madre” Winery by Student Laura Ramos Martínez and Lourdes Suárez Quintana

“Ciento y la madre” is a family winery composed of many workers who fulfill different roles. Thus, they contacted us for the design of a packaging for their new line of grape products to representing the importance of the teamwork carried out in the winery.

The winery wants to increase its sales with a new target audience. They require a memorable design that manages to attract the attention of Gen Z: ambitious young people, without fear of the new or unknown.

“Lalu Label Twist” is a packaging design with five bottles: Red Wine, White Wine, Sparkling Pear, Pacharán and Grape Ale Beer, all of them derived from grapes.

In search of a design with a unique and interactive experience, we develop the concept of “Exquisite Corpse”, merging different parts in order to form a whole, both in structural and graphic design.

The label is made up of three pieces that rotate around the bottle. Acting like a puzzle, the user rotates the pieces to match graphics and reveal the word on each bottle.

The labeling system has a cylinder shape which is divided into three parts, each part is a ring that rotates around the bottle’s body and is held in place thanks to loops that are attached to the bottle. Top and bottom rings are held in place by the loops, while the center ring is held in place by the other two.

To identify each type of product and additional information, a vertical label is placed on top of the three loops. This label has a rectangle shape and unify the loops.

To design the graphics, we used a striking, bright color palette that represents the flavors and aromas of each product. It is a simple, clear, modern and powerful graphic, which breaks with classic wine labels.

This packaging project will capture the attention of all audiences. The innovative label design can be adapted to any drink and type of bottle, generating an unforgettable consumer experience.
