“A little bird with an angel’s throat and light with sleep” The Warbler (Toutinegra) is known for its beautiful and famous night song. It has one of the longest and loudest songs among birds, and it is distinguished by its sonority and peculiar crackle. The Toutinegra sings at night to communicate, but mainly to attract a mate for mating. It is a privilege to be lucky enough to witness this night song.

As the world falls asleep under the stars on a summer night in the calm of the Alentejo fields in southern Portugal, the harmonious song of the Toutinegra echoes, accompanying the nocturnal harvest that produces this wine with its dark color and fruity character.

For the label of this wine from João Portugal Ramos, we created an illustration of the Warbler on a black background to represent the Alentejo night. We chose a terracotta pantone for the capsule to reflect the tone of the soils where the grapes are grown. The Latin expression “Carpe Noctem,” which means “seize the night” or “enjoy the night,” serves as a reminder to enjoy life and have fun, even amidst the rush of everyday life.

About João Portugal Ramos and his vineyards in the Alentejo region:
The beauty of the Alentejo plain, the culture, the hunting and the rich gastronomic tradition make Estremoz an exciting region.
