We had the pleasure of collaborating with Necropolis Spirits to develop a new brand identity, packaging, website, and 3D visualizations for their range of handcrafted, small-batch rums, expertly distilled in Scotland. Their first release, Deid Merchant, is a tribute to the rich heritage of Glasgow and its vibrant history. The rum’s base is a robust blend of Jamaican, Dominican, and Grenadian rums, which are artfully infused with Aberdeenshire brambleberries and Royal Deeside honey, creating a distinctive flavor profile. Additional notes of lime leaf and ginger provide warm, spicy undertones with a hint of citrus, making each sip an experience.
The brand draws its name and inspiration from the Necropolis, Glasgow’s historic Victorian City of the Dead. This vast 37-acre cemetery is renowned for its elaborate graves, monuments, and sculptures, and serves as the final resting place for over 50,000 individuals, including influential merchants, architects, and cultural figures who played a key role in shaping the city. Situated next to Glasgow Cathedral, the Necropolis is a symbolic and atmospheric landmark that captures the spirit of the city’s history.
Necropolis Spirits celebrates this legacy through their meticulous distillation process, deeply rooted in traditional Scottish methods. They prioritize the use of the finest ingredients available, reflecting their passion for quality and their pride in the city they call home. Every bottle of Necropolis Spirits embodies this dedication, blending historical reverence with contemporary craftsmanship.
To visually represent this heritage, we developed a brand identity centered on the iconic shapes of the Necropolis gravestones, integrating these elements into the logo design. The new e-commerce website provides a seamless experience, allowing customers to explore the story behind the brand and purchase their distinctive rums. Additionally, we created a series of 3D renders that enhance the visual appeal of their product, capturing the unique essence of Necropolis Spirits in a striking and memorable way. Our work together has crafted a brand that honors the past while inviting new enthusiasts to savor the rich, complex flavors of their exceptional rums.
