Parallel Branding Excites and Activates the Power of Nostalgia

How do you keep more than 140,000 alumni world-wide forever ”Rowdy”? With the University of Texas at San Antonio Alumni Association re-brand, Parallel tapped into that deep emotional connection alumni feel with their school and their younger, full-of-potential, energetic selves.

Everything about the Alumni Association branding leads with that orange and blue spirit and the power of nostalgia. Parallel created visuals and language that evoke what is great about being a UTSA Roadrunner and inspire graduates to keep the Roadrunner (aka “Rowdy”) love alive—“for the long run.”

The UTSA brand look and feel exudes genuine pride and spirited energy that is deeply personal and passionate without being obnoxious. Brand messaging feels like a conversation among friends remembering and celebrating the special bond of being a part of UTSA, past and present. The tagline “For the long run” positions the university as a place worth remembering, revisiting, and supporting. The tone reflects the prestige of a Tier 1 institution that is committed to lifting all motivated students and the community to higher levels of greatness.
