Cachet is a brand under Kim’s Chocolate, one of Belgium’s largest chocolate manufacturers and the number one chocolate exporter to more than 67 countries. We were honored when Kim’s Chocolate contacted DesignRepublic for a complete makeover of the Cachet Standard Range.
The briefing was straightforward: Kim’s Chocolate wanted a complete makeover of the existing Standard range. The look and feel needed to be classical, premium, and modern, directed at an audience of big retailers in (eastern) Europe. The only elements we couldn’t change were the name ‘Cachet’ and the logo.
As this range consists of many varieties, we chose to develop a recurring pattern using different colors. We aimed for a dynamic design with chocolate pieces and ingredients flying around. Additionally, we added shiny gold and silver foil sparkles to give a premium touch, along with the logo printed in gold. This sparkling, colorful, and dynamic design creates maximum shelf impact.
The redesign process was thorough. We studied market trends and the preferences of our target audience to ensure that the new designs would resonate well. Each variety in the Cachet Standard Range was given a unique color while maintaining a cohesive brand look. The flying chocolate pieces and ingredients not only added a playful element but also highlighted the rich and diverse flavors of each product.
After the rollout of this design, Kim’s Chocolate received positive feedback from retailers and customers alike. The new packaging not only met but exceeded the expectations of the brief. The enhanced visual appeal translated into increased shelf visibility and subsequently boosted sales. The new design effectively communicated the premium and modern feel that Kim’s Chocolate aimed to project.
Following the success of the Cachet Standard Range makeover, Kim’s Chocolate contacted us again to develop another range. This subsequent collaboration further solidified the commercial success of our design work and the strong partnership between DesignRepublic and Kim’s Chocolate. It was a testament to the fact that a well-thought-out design could significantly impact a brand’s market performance and customer engagement.
