Chronicle Series by The Auld Alliance: Rum and Cognac
Omdesign® was invited to create and produce the luxurious and timeless packaging for The Auld Alliance’s Chronicle Series, led by Emmanuel Dron.
With the objective of designing a distinctive and unique case to reinforce the positioning of these products from a globally renowned brand focused on quality and rare casks over quantity, Omdesign® developed these highly exclusive and limited editions. The starting point was to transform the consumer experience into a luxurious ritual during an aspirational moment.
This series introduces different spirits, with the initial releases being a Rum and a Cognac. Chronicle serves as a symbol for the distinct moment of spirits’ reverence, crafted exclusively for The Auld Alliance, a globally acclaimed company recognized for its exceptional quality offerings and limited editions.
As this series is contained in 3-liter bottles known as “demijohns,” custom-made for each nectar, these editions aim to transport discerning drinkers to Paradise through a unique “à la pipette” experience. The creative agency designed special pipettes exclusively made by Omdesign® to transfer these nectars, full of character, from the unique bottle into a glass for tasting and appreciating these unparalleled spirits.
The Cognac bottle makes a striking impact, entirely personalized and enhanced to elevate the renowned quality of The Auld Alliance’s Chronicle Series. The front incorporates various techniques, such as matte low-relief engraving and screen printing, highlighting the exclusive nature of this edition. The neck collar and bartop exude a sumptuous feel with the noble materials selected, like silver, wood, and leather. The high-quality walnut wood case features custom decoration on the front, varying based on the specific barrel each bottle carries, using techniques like engraving and screen printing. The brand’s symbol is drawn in low relief on top, emphasizing the premium character of the project. The packaging is adorned with silver pieces, including plates around the box with numbering, strong hinges, magnets with the iconic “A,” and bartop and pipette supports. Inside, a hidden compartment lined with gray alcantara tells the project’s story and protects the exclusive pipette.
The Rum decanter also commands attention with its high structure. Screen printing decorates the front, highlighting the birth and distillation place of this nectar. A silver medal with the brand symbol enhances the bottle’s magnificent image. The fully adorned bottle neck and powerful bartop, both made of silver, feature a pattern reflecting the brand’s identity. The walnut wood packaging for this “demijohn” opens like a temple and is covered in black alcantara with the “A” printed in silver screen printing. The numbering and project’s designation are engraved on the outside, and The Auld Alliance’s symbol is featured in an extruded silver piece. Similar to the Cognac case, the pipette niche is concealed on the back for safe transport and protection.
Both editions double as displays, with designated places for various elements to assist during the serving moment.
The Chronicle Series concept was conceived to enhance the luxurious experience for the consumer. Numerous design elements were meticulously crafted to elevate the tasting moment and the serving ritual, including the remarkable pipette and its pump, the support for the pipette and bartop, as well as the functionality of the display, aiming to facilitate the serving moment when using The Auld Alliance’s exclusive pipette.

In 2021, Emmanuel embarked on a collaboration with Omdesign®, whose partnership gave birth to the Chronicle Series, a testament to the fusion of expertise and creativity.
The Chronicle Series is a selection of the finest, oldest and rarest eaux-de-vie from Cognac and Armagnac, along with exceptional Rum and Whisky bottlings, with origins in Paradise – or “Paradis” -, a dark cellar which houses only the most mature eaux-de-vie, which are at their peak in the aging process.
This Series sleeps in large, bulbous glass containers known as demijohns. Taking inspiration from this, all the Chronicle offerings are exclusively available in custom-made 3 liter bottles fashioned in the likeness of these distinctive vessels.
These editions aim to transport discerning drinkers to Paradise via a singular “à la pipette” experience, Omdesign® developed special and exclusively designed pipettes to transfer these nectars from the very own unique bottle into a glass to taste and appreciate these unparalleled spirits.
