Too Gallus was tasked with reimagining the packaging for specialist independent bottler’s The Loch Fyne. Operating across own branded liquids and bottling some of the finest whiskies the world has to offer, The Loch Fyne is in a unique position. The brand wanted to cement its position in the industry with a stra(tegy, identity and packaging design which communicated the brands rich history, expertise and links to the rich surrounding area.
Too Gallus created a rich new brand strategy, pulling on the maps of the surrounding area known as Argylls hidden coast. This treatment became a design language across the range, informing a custom bottle mould and the brand’s own seal which is etched into its stopper, printed on the label and applied to the bottom of the bottle. The brand language is extended out across the labels range of blends, special casks and liqueurs, as well as having an extended application for use across printed materials and social assets.
The brand is also given a new, heritage style logo, referencing the brand’s home town of inverary. Traditional typography reflects the years of craft and expertise found in the brand’s liquids while the timeless approach grounds it firmly in the typographic style found in the surrounding area. This creates a flexible and adaptable asset which fits it far more inline with its contemporaries.
The result is striking presentation which does justice to the quality of the liquids The Loch Fyne both curates, and creates. It is an identity set to stand the test of time, for which Loch Fyne will be ever present.
