Challenged to create a product to be sold to aid those affected by the 2017 earthquakes in central Italy, San Lucio aims to helping rebuild the area by bringing people together — the Italian way — over a cheese board!
From story to brand to consumer, San Lucio is a brand layered with sweet spots throughout, but all tied to a consistent thread of togetherness. Capturing the brand’s Italian roots and meaningful story, through an authentic visual language, celebrates the goodness that follows such tragic events. A brand that follows in the footsteps of San Lucio Uguzon, a man that despite his own poverty, shared what he did have with others in need. It was his charitable good nature that led him to become the patron saint of cheese-makers. It’s in the character of people and community that makes a difference.
At the core of the brand sits the Together tin, featuring 4 PDO cheeses. One to represent each region effected by the earthquakes, bringing together flavour’s from all over. The cheese may disappear quick but the tin will last a life time, reducing single use packaging one tin at a time. Continuing to be mindful with materials throughout, using beeswax wraps to preserve the cheese – these biodegradable, reusable wraps feature carefully curated flavour profiles specific to each region. The ‘Together Tin’ not only celebrates the 4 regions coming together but encourages consumers to mirror this and support the cause.
But it doesn’t stop there, following Italian tradition, we will hold a yearly cheese festival. Raising brand awareness and bringing a taste of Italian celebration to the uk. Like the Italians, our Ruzzolone will have great food, live music and of course – rolling of the cheese! Bringing people together both in person and online, with a strong social presence to get people talking – because together we can make a difference…
