In central Puglia, between the sea and the foothills lie the Olive groves of Corato, where the Bucci family have been harvesting and producing high–quality, Extra Virgin Olive Oil for generations. Now, the family mantle has been passed to Alessandro, who’s added the region’s unique style of ceramics to the family’s collection of imports from Italy’s heel, to the breadth of the UK.
Provenance plays a huge part in Italian culture, with families often having their own coat of arms. This led us to develop a modern crest rooted in the Pugliese heritage, with the Bucci family at its heart. Everything from typographic inspiration found in an old prayer book, to the paint splashes unique to their ceramics was considered, and implemented into, the visual direction.
Throughout the identity and packaging, we wanted to make customers feel like they’re part of the extended Bucci family, using label tags and social media posts to tell the stories of parents, grandparents, and siblings that all contributed to the rich history of the brand.
