We were tasked with completely refreshing and modernizing the church’s brand identity, amplifying its key features at every level, and making them more effectively stand out from other churches.
The Kościół Radość in Gdańsk, Poland (The Joy Church) is an organization with a rich history dating back to the 1960s. Despite their admirable legacy, they are a contemporary, diverse, and joyful church, one that positively impacts society and is open to all. A community that responds to the needs of modern times, supports each other, and actively engages with society.
Our primary objective was to develop a logo that would capture the essence of the church and make a long-lasting impression on its members and potential new followers. We suggested the word “joy” to become the central focus of the new logo. The word itself carries immense energy and optimism and denotes a positive feeling that people associate with their spiritual experiences. We wanted to build on this feeling and express it through the design, providing an easily recognizable and memorable representation of the church.
We understood that by simplifying the brand name and using a playful typography with variations, we could effectively represent all these concepts.
We also developed an extended and consistent color palette that helped elevate the organization’s visual identity and support its growing needs. The new brand identity system enables diverse marketing campaigns, making the church stand out from other institutions.
