The tale of Chrystoudia Winery unfolds in 1992, when the Christoudia family embarked on a journey to nurture their passion and expertise in enology. Nestled in the charming village of Kato Drys in Cyprus, this unique winery thrives in an idyllic microclimate, guaranteeing premium harvests and, in turn, crafting wines of extraordinary quality.
Thirty years on, the younger generation of the family took on the exciting challenge of revitalizing the brand. The team at Reef+Co was entrusted with creating the new brand identity.
Drawing inspiration from the Cyprus donkey—an emblem of hard work, patience, and dedication—the donkey became the logo symbol, paying homage to this remarkable creature that played a vital role in the island’s agriculture and economy throughout the ages. The symbol’s visual language was influenced by the captivating illustrations found on ancient Cypriot pottery, adding a touch of heritage and authenticity to the brand’s identity.
Part of this award-winning rebranding project, was the creation of the labels for the entire range of wines. Drawing inspiration from the slogan, ‘Every wine tells a story,’ a captivating concept emerged, giving birth to nine distinct labels, each boasting a unique illustration.
At the heart of every label stands the brand’s iconic symbol—the donkey—an integral element that weaves a different tale, capturing the wine’s distinct character, enticing aroma, and delightful taste.
The design approach embraced the winery logo’s geometric theme, integrating pure geometric shapes that unite, creating a stage for each wine’s narrative to unfold.
These crafted labels go beyond aesthetics, inviting you to delve into a world of flavours and stories, where every sip reveals a new chapter—an experience that pays tribute to the magic of each wine and the cherished heritage of the winery.
