Following a successful relaunch in 2019 that established Woodstock Gin as the ‘Spirit of the Streets, distilled for the World’, with each variant reflecting a unique aspect (and address) of Woodstock in Cape Town. It was felt that while the authenticity and brand story were liked, there was a lack of understanding around the street names and the grungy feel failed to support a premium positioning. While the novel variants (such as hemp) were intriguing they failed to translate into repeat purchase.
Embracing the ‘Good Rebel’ positioning with it’s “Untamed’ vision we crafted the Original variant, cleaning up the label, elevating it’s premiumness and introducing more flavour cues. Streetart and graffiti were the inspiration for the Original ‘399 on Albert’ variant and the brand home so we followed the theme of art and arts expressive nature for the new flavour variants.
From watercolours to oils, screen printing to textile design there is a style of art that speaks to every person, expresses every mood and even describes any flavour. We chose expressive oils in fiery red & orange for the ‘Tangerine & Fiery Ginger’ variant with beautiful flowing florals complementing our ‘Brambleberry & Purple Lotus’ variant.
The new Woodstock Gin family is an eclectic blend of opposites. Rebellious but refined. Traditional but on-trend. A downtown gin with uptown award wins. We set our own rules and embrace the unexpected. Bringing together the unconventional. To create the exceptional. Mix it up. Mix it together. Flavour it for fun. We are unafraid and uninhibited.
