Tokyo Records is a geek rap label and publisher that saw a universe on the rise, however, with many unprepared artists. Our main challenge was to design a visual identity that conveys a cool and striking vibe, with an air of rebellion. Tokyo Records is the fusion of urban rebelliousness and dirt with the mark of oriental details.
Although the work at the moment is as a recording company, the idea is to expand in the future, embracing other fronts as an event producer and book publisher. And the proposed design for the brand will work very well in this.
The contrast between blue and red brought us the ideal balance to the project. The idea is to present a striking visual identity that communicates in a youthful way, vibrating both on paper and on the screens of online devices.
We also designed the ideal photography idea for the brand, with the artists displaying a rebellious youthful tone, using and abusing colors and shapes to bring weight to Tokyo Records.
The brand is located in Brasília, Federal District, capital of Brazil, birthplace of some of the most influential musicians in the history of Brazilian popular music, especially Rock and Roll. It is a city accustomed to culture and Tokyo Records will have an important ally in exporting Rap Geek throughout South America. But, of course, Tokyo will not be limited to the continent alone, the brand’s ambition is global.
Tokyo Records is made for underdogs, strangers and excluded people, and understands that it is an ideal space to receive young talents that feel that way. Tokyo Records is modern. It’s creative. It’s vibrant.
