Manchester-based creative agency Love has designed a limited edition luxury giftpack for the world-renowned Hendrick’s Gin. ‘G&Tea Time at the Hendrick’s Hotel’ invites guests into the delightfully curious and wonderful world of Hendrick’s for a drinking experience unlike any other. The pack features a bottle of Hendrick’s Gin alongside a custom Hendrick’s tea set, complete with a bespoke porcelain teapot, six delicately decorated teacups and saucers. Once opened, the Hotel pack is a striking, statement-making display for the contents within.
Through meticulously thought-out and executed design details, this limited edition is an ode to the personality that fans have fallen in love with over the past 20+ years since the brand’s inception.
A new unboxing
Briefed to provide the ultimate Hendrick’s drinking experience, Love created a bespoke three-dimensional structure that houses the tea set in-transit and then transforms into a show-stopping display case perfect for any home bar.
The distinctive hotel concept offers rich visual storytelling, with each shelf becoming its own hotel room full of moments of surprise and delight.
In the hotel’s kitchen, customers will find Master Distiller Lesley Gracie watching over her two stills – the blend of which is what gives Hendrick’s its unusually smooth character. Meanwhile, the glass ceiling on the top of the pack replicates the brand’s very own Gin Palace, its Victorian-style marvel in Girvan which houses the distillery.
Gloss-varnished windows and tactile brick and masonry work showcase an attention-to-detail that is synonymous with the craft and care the brand is known for, while also appealing to the more upmarket consumer it hopes to capture with this launch.
Playful luxury
For the intricate illustrations, Love commissioned Carmen Ziervogel, an artist who has built a career crafting unique and ethereal designs. The idea was to inject a playful take on luxury, combining a touch of the unusual to an otherwise considered and sophisticated aesthetic. Think chameleons in old English top hats and blackbirds dressed as doormen to welcome the guests.
This approach spans every aspect of the pack down to each word of copy, which was also created by Love and leans into Hendrick’s most curious style. Consumers are invited to ‘open their mind and step inside’, where they are greeted by ‘tips for a perfectly peculiar G&Tea party’. Inside, each of the hotel rooms have been named and descripted to give the audience a greater sense of the story inside this magical Hendrick’s world. The ‘Master Suite’, for example, is described as ‘A cucumber slumber, to prelude the wonder’.
Love’s Helen Lazzari, who was Creative Director on the project, said: “At Love, we know how powerful limited editions can be in allowing brands to venture into new spaces. With Hendrick’s, we wanted to help the brand realise its ambition to capture the imagination in the luxury end of the market. The concept helps do just that now, but also offers the potential for developments in the future.”
Muiris Ó Riada, Global Brand Director for Hendrick’s Gin, said: “At Hendrick’s, we aspire to make every interaction with our customers a special experience. The ‘G&Tea Time at the Hendrick’s Hotel’ giftpack is our latest and most luxurious expression of that philosophy. It provides our customers a glimpse into the enchanting world of Hendrick’s Gin, and Love has designed a delightful gift that people can give and display with pride for years to come.”
The limited-edition gift set is available now, from Harvey Nichols and The Whiskey Exchange in the UK as well as the following international markets: Argentina, Australia, Belgium, Colombia, Denmark, Singapore, Slovenia, Switzerland
