Station IPA is a craft beer produced by Signals in collaboration with Allendale Brew Co. and is the successor to Runway Coffee, which was also designed by myself. Signals is one of the most popular food and drink destinations in Saltburn-by-the-sea and attracts a vast number of customers all year round. They have evolved over the years and are continuing their journey to develop their own line on beverage products to sell in house.
I was employed to create a meaningful and expandable product identity system for a range of products that would be sold by Signals. The project would contain brand strategy, product naming, logo design, illustration, packaging design and merchandise development.
Signals has a long-established connection with Saltburn train station and our region’s industrial heritage. To honour this connection we chose to base the product theme on our most loved modes of transport. The products design would also be influenced by bold and colourful vintage seaside posters that were popular in the region. The design would attract customers of all ages and be a welcome sight to any tourist wishing to take home a piece of their visit to Saltburn-by-the-sea.
With the rise in popularity of craft beers and independent breweries over the last few years, Signals was sure to brew up some excitement with their exciting new craft beer. I invite you to take a look through a photoshoot that I helped direct to capture the passion that has gone into Station IPA and the ever expanding portfolio of Signals.
