Octávio Freitas is a Chef connected to the land and his origins. He turned the gardens of his hotel Socalco Nature into vineyards and the Galatrixa wine was born from the first harvest.
“It is a product closely associated with the hotel, in which the wine will be the last of the details”. A fearless firstborn, with the ambition to raise the name and reputation of the Madeira’s still wines.
Galatrixa, which means gecko to many islanders, is an endemic species of the Madeira archipelago. It is a sincere tribute to Madeiran regionalism and its strong identity.
The galatrixa gives its name to the wine and the image recognizes its unequivocal right to be the protagonist of this story.
The skin of this small reptile, which in its natural habitat acts as camouflage, outside its surroundings causes the opposite effect. The label stands out by color and texture, making it irresistible to the touch and giving us the unique opportunity to interact with this hidden and elusive animal.
Sustainability was the basis for choosing a 100% recycled glass bottle, with natural imperfections in the glass and asymmetrical silhouette that give the product movement and personality.
It is all these conceptual and tangible attributes that make the product immediately recognizable and give it its strong and indisputable narrative.
