A calendar showing how the shapes of numbers have changed over six centuries, from gothic fonts to grotesques. The calendar is for the three summer months, which is why I gave it the name “summery”. It follows the principle: new day, new typeface. On each page of the new day is written the date, month and day of the week and is given brief information about the font: the name, author, year or century of creation, the name of the digital version or prototype, based on which the main font is made.
Each day is accompanied by jarringly graphic elements that resemble in character the features of the chosen font. Bright colors and active graphics set a special rhythm to the story and give this calendar a stylish objec.

The format of the calendar is 90×145 mm, is designed for 94 days (three summer months in 2023) and was printed in duplicate on coated paper. Graphik Cy 8/9 in Regular, Medium Italic and Regular Italic was used as the main fonts for the font information signatures and on the cover. In the captions, the font blocks are separated by rulers by meaning. The calendar is positioned as tear-off, which means that special cuts were made to make it easier to open the calendar pages with each new day.

The calender showed the evolution of the forms of figures on six groups (classifications): Gothic typefaces, ribbon antiquas, Venetian antiquas, heralds (Italian-French antiquas), Dutch antiquas, English antiquas, transitional antiquas of new style, bar antiquas and grotesques.

This project was carried out as a student project at the HSE School of Art and Design in 2022 at a course on the evolution of type forms.
