The House of Muck range is a collection of two wines from the cool climate wine region of The Grampians in Australia.
When we were approached by ‘Muck’ to create this packaging, the first thing we noticed was he’s not your ordinary person… or winemaker. As for the weird name … he was anointed “Muck” by his nieces and nephews many years ago and it’s stuck.
A gentlemen with a modest collection of ridiculous automobiles, who wears a cravat, smoking jacket, monical and Panama hat… he combines things that shouldn’t work together – but just do.
Not caught up in his own self importance, he doesn’t take life too seriously – but is serious about the wines he makes. He says his hand-crafted cool climate wines are ‘mini works of art’.
And this was the inspiration for our approach to the creative of the labels; fun, experimental and daring… things that shouldn’t work together – but just do. The combination of color, textures, high build and foil embellishments intricately designed on each label are busy but in the most beautiful way – gorgeous on their own and even more wonderful as a collection. The use of special wine paper and subtle color accents give the design a certain texture and sophistication that emphasize the unique and experimental character of each wine.
He’s a wine-lover, a risk taker and a doting uncle… and strangely enough, it is a combination of all of those attributes that led him to winemaking and the creation of “The House of Muck”.
The House of Muck website was also redesigned to fit this new, fun brand personality. Expect the unexpected… much like ‘Muck’.
