Azienda Agricola Tomei is located near Rome, in the area of the Arches of San Lidano, the remains an ancient Roman bridge that connected Via Setina with the Appian Forum. In 2017, continuing the family farming experience on a land they have been cultivating for three generations, Marco Tomei decides to turn his passion for wines and agricolture into a profession. For him, making wines means being the guardian and storyteller of his own territory, not an easy task considering that according to the myth the City of Sezze was founded by Hercules himself.
Iknstudio took care of the identity of the farm starting with the logo, the product’s names, the packaging and labels design. The vines are native to Agropontino: Bellone, Ottonese, Cesanese and black berried Abbuoto. Wines are tales of the territory and farming practices; for this reason Veniero is the road surrounded by black grapes that runs along the ancient Appia, Ritornato is the traditional peasant method of processing white grapes and Fertile is a tribute to the richness of the Agropntino lands.
The arches of San Lidano become the logo of the company and the labels are designed with few elements. The choice of product names, sophisticated materials and a modern typography tell a story of traditions and respect for the territory. A way to try to rethink the communication of natural wines by moving them away from the iconography of the “vernacular at all costs” and to present the products of the Tomei Farm for what they are: good, healthy, clean, artisanal wines.
