DOPA – The Department of Pro-Activeness Branding

DOPA – The Department of Pro-Activeness Branding

Context
We talk a lot about mental wellness, but no-one talks about ‘creative wellness’.

DOPA (The Department of Pro-Activeness) is a brand and podcast platform that fuels conversations around creative wellness and puts positivity back into the hearts, minds and ears of people working within the creative industry. A brand created to enable candid conversations around specific topics like: fear, self-doubt, failure etc, and turn them into more positive attributes like fun, self-belief and kick-ass ideas.

An idea born out of personal experiences within the global pandemic; creative mental barriers became synonymous with everyday life in creative isolation. However, these themes and mental battles are timeless and equally relevant outside of the COVID-19 pandemic.

The idea
The brand was created to resemble an official governing body, whilst feeling uplifting, positive and empowering. The ‘D’ monogram contains simple geometric shapes that represent the letters of the DOPA acronym. As humans, we are in a state of flux; constantly evolving, changing, developing and growing alongside the ideas we create. The motion solution allowed the geometric letterforms to morph, flex and shape-shift with versatility and ease. A very adaptable solution that works in print, digital and social content.

Whether graphic shapes, combined with photography or illustration, all of the various components activate a positive and empowering brand whilst endorsing a credible voice in the industry.

Results
The project launched on World Health Day 2021 and was quickly picked up by the press. It gained further traction online and ultimately drove the listing figures up through Spotify, Google and Apple podcast platforms.

The topics have resonated with people and helped re-frame their mindset. The conversations are helping people to have a healthier perspective on these negative attributes. To speak confidence and empowerment into the minds of creative professionals can only lead to better creative ideas. The potential impact on the future, is a healthier and more robust creative mind.
