After research identified risks of traditional menstrual protection such as tampons or pads on the health and the environment, new brands offering alternatives have appeared on the market.

Dans Ma Culotte is one of those emerging French brands that wish to offer alternatives to traditional period products more respectful of the body and the environment such as menstrual cups or washable sanitary pads.

Since a few years, the menstrual panties arrived on the market of the menstrual protections and seduces by its comfort and its practicality.

Dans Ma Culotte wished to launch its own range period panties. After seeing my diploma project on another menstrual lingerie brand, Dans Ma Culotte contacted me to design packaging for each type of panty — one for normal flows and one for abundant flows.

The brand mainly used colorful patterns and illustrations for the packaging of these main product lines. It was asked to keep a coherence with the existing packaging while proposing a specific universe for this new range. The shape of the box as well as the color of the panties and the typography were imposed. The brand logo should be clearly visible on the front of the box.

I decided to propose a colored universe more minimalist highlighting organic forms evoking at the same time the feminine curves and what happens in the body of the women during their menstruation in an abstract and subtle way. A gradient and a texture have been incorporated into the shapes to give them a sensitive look and recall the illustrative style of the other product lines.

The use of only 3 colors allows to create a strong graphic territory while enhancing the product visible from the outside through a cutout in the box.

Then I created 3D images of the packaging, the panties and a set design directly inspired by the visual territory I have designated.
