Black Lines Oatnog Launch

Black Lines Oatnog Launch

Black Lines, founded in 2019 are an independent team producing pre-batched bottled cocktails on tap and in bottle for Hospitality venues across the UK.

The aim is simple; make great tasting cocktails more accessible. You could say that our mission statement is to ‘democratise’ cocktails, but that’s a little grand and political four our liking. Really, it’s about giving people the choice and freedom to enjoy their favourite cocktail no matter who they are, where they are or what time it is.

Cocktails have a rich and decorated history – the perfect foundation on which to build something new.
Artfully Blended; form, depth, flavour and personality run through everything we do. Those who have a keen interest in art may know that we share a name with Kandinsky’s seminal piece ‘Black Lines.’ It is amongst the first of his truly abstract paintings and is often seen as the start of a new era for contemporary art. At Black Lines, we are not the first producers of pre-batched cocktails and we will not be the last, but like Kandinsky we believe that there is a different way to do things.

To celebrate the history, flavour profiles and culture surrounding cocktails we have collaborated with emerging artists to create illustrations for each of our classic serves that adorn the front of every bottle and throughout the rest of our brand.

This Christmas we have decided to launch a new serve: The Black Lines Oat Nog.
It’s time for Mulled Wine to move over, it’s had your moment in the limelight. It is about time we brought back George Washington’s favourite tipple; a drink so good that it caused an Eggnog riot at America’s top military academy West Point in 1826. We have taken this classic Christmas treat and given it a Black Lines revamp. Dairy out, Oatly in. Ready to serve hot or cold, welcome the Black Lines Oatnog.

Using East London Liquor Co’s Demerara Rum, Oatly Barista, Coconut, Cinnamon, Nutmeg and Vanilla, the 750ml bottle contains 5 serves at 6% ABV and is vegan friendly unlike its egg-based predecessor. Ready to serve, the drink can be poured straight over ice in a rocks glass or served hot, with a garnish of ground nutmeg.
A limited run of 1000 bottles will be available from 3rd November on our online store (blacklinesdrinks.com) and from several selected bottle shops across the UK, with an RRP of £20 per bottle.

No matter where the bottle it’s purchased, we will be donating 20% of the final sale price to our charity partner, the Hackney Migrant Centre, through the festive period. Their amazing work supports refugees, asylum seekers and other migrants in need through the provision of free advice on immigration, welfare, and health. The festive period is a time for family and friends to come together; sometimes, that isn’t so easy, which is why we’ve been so keen to support this important charity.
Label design by Jake Mac. Who through the use of Canela type font wanted to create a simple but striking label that uses alternative placement of the type face to draw people’s attention immediately to the drink’s name.
