Although the tattoo is ancient and body modification has existed in all civilizations, it really was not fashionable, but in recent years tattoo is no longer demonized. On the contrary, every time we see more people of any field or profession, show their tattoos with pride. Tattoos are marks of identity, expression, culture and community or just impulses of an instant. Is a way for people from different cultures to represent their identity and journeys. In the end, all tattoos have a story behind and are part of our body permanent.

As part of us, we have to take care of them, to keep them shiny. Blackend is a Tattoo Care and Maintenance Balm that hydrates your skin and helps you maintain the colour in your tattoos. Blackend is a natural alternative to synthetic creams and cheap petroleum used to heal your tattoo.

As a design studio, we had to create an identity that represented the philosophy and work of Rodrigo Rioji, who only works with black ink, called the Black Workstyle, which by definition is heavy and thick, but also makes Fine Line pieces, which has a simple feature.

Our challenge was to translate this style to the packaging and identity of the brand considering the world of tattoos but from a premium perspective. We design a logo that adapts, that changes according to its application, preserving the soberness of the tattoo with elegant typography with defined gestures. We developed a poster with a classic symbol of tattoos: infinity to emphasise the idea that a tattoo is a companion for life and that Blackend helps it renew, shine and look better.
