2S Global Design – LA BALEINE À CABOSSE – DESIGN GLOBAL

“Claire and Aurelien knew nothing about cocoa until they decided to travel to Colombia. It is there that they discover the riches and diversities of cocoa beans. Far from industrial chocolate, they embark on the principle of “bean-to-bar” (which means “from the bean to the tablet”). They will roast, crush, winnowing, grind and conch in their own shop in Marseille cocoa beans to produce their own range of chocolates. This passionate couple favors a “homemade” chocolate. In one tablet, it’s an explosion of flavors.

It is directly from Colombia that Claire and Aurélien have asked the agency 2S Global Design to support them in their project. Our mission was to develop the overall design of the brand.

Why the name of the Whale in Cabosse? In Tumaco, returning from a visit to the cocoa plantations, they had the opportunity to see humpback whales. Their shape immediately reminds them of the cocoa pods they have fallen in love with … The Cactus Whale is born, a legendary creature that plies the waters of the Pacific in search of boats laden with cocoa. It seems that whoever sees it from the coast is promised a fabulous harvest the following year.

By creating his identity, we gave life to the whale pod carrying on his back his journey in the different regions of Colombia, rising star of exceptional cocoas. Warm colors and raw materials make the Whale both artisanal and modern. The concept of identity had to break with the traditional codes of chocolate and confectionery.

The packaging was designed with a simple folding, no glue point and dressed by the atmosphere and decor of their fabulous trip to the regions of Cordoba, Arauca and Tumaco. 3 land and so 3 wines to taste and smell Notes distinct.”
