Whitewash a bottle? Done! With Calce, the colour white encompasses all of Apulia’s simplicity and sophisticated elegance.
The goal was to bring back on the label all the simplicity and freshness of the painted walls of the classic houses of southern Italy. Slightly smooth walls, with grooves that highlight the manual aspect of the work. Year after year, layers of paint accumulate that time will peel off. A continuous struggle between man and time, between roughness and aesthetic sense, poor and delicate at the same time. White used as a mirror for sunlight, a remedy for the lack of artificial light in the streets. A classic, in stark contrast to the colors of the land to be cultivated, with the dirty clothes of the farmers. The whiteness of the domestic walls cleaned up all the fatigue accumulated in the vineyards.

Lime, stone of sun smoothed by the wind. Alchemy of a stone collected from the earth, melted by fire and modelled according to art and ingenuity. From a land of sand and shells, a classic method with fruity and mineral scents. A fine perlage and the fragrance of a long aging on the lees. Calce is the Spumante Metodo Classico Brut by San Marzano Wines. Three years of bottle aging on selected yeasts, fragrance like a melody of broom flowers, exotic fruit and candied citrus. Freshness, complexity, pleasure to accompany a moment. A double overlapping paper, like the layers of paint on the walls of the houses. Embossing and debossing interventions that create a tactile experience. The use of gold foil to create light points that contrast with a matte paint and the brown color used for the name Calce.
