As part of The Wright Group, BuildWright has been operating in the construction industry for over 70 years. By building a strong reputation for high-quality products and a great customer service in the early years, their offering quickly went from strength to strength. In 2005, they opened the doors to a purpose-built factory in County Monaghan, reaffirming their position as a leading supplier of precast concrete products to the Irish and UK construction market. With the increased skill shortage and housing crisis of 2009, the team started to develop the advanced concrete technology they are known for today. Eight years later in 2018, the BuildWright system was officially born and launched to the UK market.
As fully fledged members of the self-build market, BuildWright quickly recognised the need for a total brand refresh. In order to effectively communicate with their new customers and employees, they needed a new brand identity, tone of voice and website. After several ‘getting-to-know-you’ workshops with the BuildWright leadership team, we developed three concepts for consideration and testing. Each concept paid homage to the rich history of The Wright Group while showcasing their fresh take on modern living and contemporary building techniques.
With a clear winner identified, we then moved forward with the refinement of their brand identity. The new brand promise ‘This is Living’ captures the unrivalled feeling of wonder that one gets when living in a BuildWright Concrete Modular Home. To bring this to life visually, we created a brand marque to reflect the modular nature of the unique building process, all while drawing on the BuildWright name. As well as drawing inspiration from interior trends to form a unique colour palette, we commissioned lifestyle photography to use on the website, corporate communications, video and social media. In order to show the breadth of house types and finishes on offer, we carried out our photoshoot in real BuildWright homes across Ireland.
