The Eight Blessing Candy Box is an in-house seasonal project of Bake and Brew Limited. We as a Hong Kong based award-winning design studio attends to details with every comprehensive design solution. Meanwhile, we also play an active role in community art and craft projects to embrace the spirit of craftsmanship. In an effort to fuse design and business, we are as well reaching collaborative partnerships with select clients to deliver forward-looking products and branding ideas.

Lunar New Year is the time of year for Chinese to gather with their friends and family, and shower them with love and care. To tie up any loose ends and start fresh, lucky plants and auspicious red couplets will be used for decorating the house. A red candy box is also an essential of New Year and it plays a significant role in the celebration process.

Traditionally, a candy tray will be filled with eight types of sweets such as nuts, seeds, candies, dried fruits or even dried vegetables. It symbolizes wholeness and good fortune. We have replaced the sweets with eight nutritious and healthy fruit snacks, and each snack has a hidden message. The messages make the candy box becomes more unique and truly meaningful.

The candy box will consist of eight kinds of snacks because eight is Chinese auspicious lucky numbers. Not only could our friends indulge their craving without worrying what the sugar may do to their blood pressure, but we also sending our blessing to them.

We have a lot of fun in the experiment of candy box packaging design and try out special printing effects. The main colors of the candy box are red and purple which have the meaning of auspicious. The dot matrix on the cover of the box present the bright shining light of new year. And the lines form the Chinese tradition pattern as decoration. Both lines and dots are produced by foil stamping to create s shiny and eye-catchy design. Inside the candy box, you may find it not only is a gift box but also can reassemble a candy box. Each of the individual packaging of the snacks has a unique fruit shape foil stamping as well.
