This was a packaging brief assigned to me at Shillington College. Søstre is a Danish boutique company that sells furniture in central Copenhagen. The brief was to design packaging for their new range of furniture paint. It was important that the range needed to stand out on the shelf and look contemporary. There was an extra challenge of how to incorporate a pattern in the design while still making it clear what colour of paint the can contained, which was solved by using a black and white pattern with a pop of colour. Each colour was named after a different Danish landmark. The name Søstre translates from Danish to English as ‘sisters’, named after Erika and Freja Erichsen who set up their own company. They are opposites in personality, but that’s what makes their brand. An unconventional family of paints to give your furniture personality.
