Wild & Seed – Natural Health for Our Dogs

What Inspired the Project

The “Wild & Seed” product line by Pest Best GmbH was born from a deeply personal experience. Founder Laura’s dog Fiete suffered from chronic digestive issues, which escalated into a serious inflammation of the small intestine. After days of vomiting and dehydration, Fiete required intensive treatment – a turning point that inspired Laura to become a certified canine nutritionist.

Her goal: to create dog food that doesn’t just nourish, but heals. That’s how “Wild & Seed” came to life – hypoallergenic, grain-free, rich in fresh meat and complemented by a natural herbal blend that once helped Fiete recover. This mission still drives the brand today.

The Core Design Idea

The packaging needed to instantly communicate the product’s natural and health-oriented character. Each ingredient is arranged like a blooming flower, with the round “Wild & Seed” logo at its center. This organic composition evokes harmony, nature, and the care poured into every recipe.
The tagline “Simply Natural, Simply Delicious” reflects both product quality and emotional appeal – designed to build trust at first glance.

Materials & Sustainability

The cans are wrapped in a banderole made from renewable paper – a conscious decision to reflect environmental responsibility. This approach sets the brand apart in a segment where glossy plastic is still the norm.

Creative Process

As designer and creative director, I worked closely with the client and immersed myself in the world of canine nutrition. Witnessing the commitment to uncompromising quality inspired me to translate this passion into design: clear, emotionally engaging and sincere.

Shelf Impact & Differentiation

In a highly competitive category, the design had to stand out. The floral visuals, the clean layout and the transparent communication of benefits were all chosen to make an instant impact. The packaging clearly addresses health-conscious dog owners, helping them understand at a glance what sets “Wild & Seed” apart.

Unique Flavors

The line includes four carefully formulated recipes:

Venison with Buckwheat – ideal for sensitive dogs
Pheasant with Beetroot – rare and nutrient-rich
Duck with Pear & Millet – gentle on the stomach
Horse with Flaxseed – for dogs with allergies
Each variety is tailored for dogs with specific needs and is truly unique in the market.

Launch & Success

“Wild & Seed” quickly gained traction after launch. A major pet supply retailer listed the products before they were officially entered into their system – even resorting to using old labeling machines to speed up shelf placement.
The line has also performed strongly online, and additional retail partners are already showing interest.
