Owly – A Brand in Constant Flight Designed by Hunch

Based on a rejected proposal, we decided to rebuild and develop a brand identity system based on what we had started just to push our boundaries, challenge ourselves and figure out how it would have come out if it made it through the client’s approval. We wanted to take this project as serious and real as it could and that’s how Owly rised from the ashes: a concept app that imagines a streaming service offering a superior audio quality and user experience.

A brand in constant flight.

From its logo to its modern and intuitive interface, the visual universe of Owly stands out for a simplicity that dialogues, almost naturally, with a universe of colors, characters and textures.

The importance of building a great design system based on generous grids, flexible typefaces, a modern color palette and a friendly interface relies on the necessity of engaging with new audiences who are looking for the next generation of apps.

Designing a brand for digital environments does not only mean thinking about performance in new platforms and interfaces. It also involves understanding and designing the link with their users. It implies flexibility and dynamism for constant evolution. That’s why we came up with an extremely simple and easy-to-use interface where the user could intuitively navigate and reach what he is looking for within a tap or swipe. Smooth transitions, clean design and newfangled EQ controls makes Owly stand out from traditional apps in the market and reaffirm its commitment to deliver a unique user experience and audio quality.

An illustrated and sensorial universe.

Alongside with Juan Dellacha, designer & illustrator from Buenos Aires, Argentina, we crafted an illustrated and sensorial universe that expands Owly’s brand experience. Inspired by the analog and digital aspects of sounds, the illustrations of multiple characters, textures and different compositions awakens the unique sensation of an unrepeatable experience: listening to music in high fidelity.
