Hello, im João Apolinário, a portuguese design director, currenlty i work on the ecommerce landscape with several different products, but my love for the wine world speaks loud and i make some projects and work some clients in this field from time to time to fill that desire, it’s something that i really enjoy to do. So the project that i bring today to share with World Brand Design is the redesign of a very special Portuguese wine label, in fact it all started as an exercise with the coat of arms, to understand how can we bring that kind of design to the modern design and the result turned out great so i wanted to share it. I think the project has the potential to be shared on your platform due to it’s elegance and beauty.

Label redesign for Dona Isabel Juliana by Quinta da Lagoalva, a very special wine from Alpiarça, Ribatejo, Portugal and a tribute to Dona Isabel Juliana de Sousa e Holstein Beck Campilho a extraordinary women with great importance to the region.
The redesign consists on 5 main features, first one was the uplift on the family coat of arms, bringing it to the modernity, second one, a refinement made with care of the wine name typography, highlighting the addition of the cursive “Dona” that adds elegance as a whole to the label, third one is the addition of the wax seal on the top of the bottle, a detail that stands out and adds value to the whole packaging experience, the fourth is the choice of a similar bottle but better in terms of structure and the last one the paper, chosen by its color that gives the feeling of antique/heritage, that is precisely the feeling that i wanted for the whole packaging.
For the execution of the graphic work i used Adobe Illustrator and for the 3D render i used Adobe Photoshop alongside with Adobe Dimension. Thank you.
