Frente Design Creates Haenssgen Chocolates New Packaging That Highlights It’s History

The new packaging developed for Haenssgen chocolates brings back a story that begins two centuries ago. In 1890, with the intention of opening new horizons, Frederico Germano Haenssgen came from Germany to start a new life in Brazilian lands. As a traveling salesman he came to know the rich interior of Rio Grande do Sul.

During the revolutionary movement that agitated the State, being unable to work, he stayed, temporarily, in São Gabriel da Estrela, city known today as Cruzeiro do Sul, and there he met Eleonora Veeck, daughter of the owners of the inn where he was staying. Frederico and Eleonora got married in 1894.

The small industry created 120 years ago has grown and continues to produce and improve the knowledge acquired since that time and today is led by the descendants of the founding couple. These descendants who value on maintaining the good name and the quality of the products.

The new packaging design for the traditional line of chocolates is inspired on the first packagings of the brand, but with a contemporary reinterpretation, the boxes count with custom ornaments and golden finishing, which remits to the premium quality of the chocolates, based on the original recipes of the founding couple of the company.

The traditional chocolates are offered in the variations Traditional 34% Cocoa, Traditional 43% Cocoa, Milk with Peanut 34% Cocoa, Milk with Peanut 43% Cocoa, Milk with Hazelnut 34% Cocoa, Traditional White Chocolate and White Chocolate with Cranberry.

Inside the boxes you find the richly wrapped chocolate bars on a gold paper with the Haenssgen brand and a text about the company’s history. The chocolates carry the numbering that was traditionally used to identify the exclusive recipes, created by the founders since 1885.

The packaging celebrates the history of the oldest family chocolate factory in Brazil, which has grown and continues to produce delicious chocolates, cookies, toppings and fillings, widely known in several places in Rio Grande do Sul – Brazil.
