Donati Family Vineyard came to CF Napa Brand Design to name their new, premium, distilled from grapes vodka as well as to design the logo and packaging under their new distillery – Donati Spirits. Both the name of the vodka and the packaging needed to reflect the artisan craftsmanship of the spirit, the use of quality ingredients, as well as pay an homage to the distillery’s Central Coast, California roots.
First, CF Napa Brand Design created the name of the new brand. The name Bear + Prophet was inspired by the grizzly bear that adorns the California state flag and the prophetic nature of the distiller – able to see the future potential of the crafted spirit. Second, CF Napa Brand Design created the label design around the new name. The jet black label was employed to contrast the pure, crystal clear color of the vodka. An intricate pattern of copper foil catches the light and speaks to the artisanal quality of the vodka and the stills used in the production of spirits. Latin phrases outlined the design and speak to the hardwork, dedication and luck that goes into every bottle.
– “Laboris Prudentia” which translates to “Hardwork and Foresight”.
– “Qualis Ingredientia” which translates to “Quality Ingredients”.
– “Et Paulum Fortuna” which translates to “A Little Bit of Luck”.
– “Quod Ego Magis Opus Est, Ut Meliori Te” which translates to “The Harder I Work, the Luckier I Get”.
The bottle was finished with a dark wood closure and a top strip label to complete the ultra premium design.
