Ianua is a specialised brand of doors, products and services related to wood whose first front is to produce and install different, modern, elegant, fine doors, with perfect finishes and quality woods; The company is aimed at a high-profile consumer with a taste for the different and for quality, in addition this brand also communicates with those in charge of housing projects or professionals in the construction industry who seek quality in their developments.
The Problem: The Puertas Modernas company asks us for a different approach to what they have to re-branding this brand and reach the market they wanted, therefore we needed to build a brand that, from the name to the concept, through the graphic, would represent an aspirational brand “if I’m going to buy a great door, it has to be from this brand.”
Solution: The concept of this brand is based on the function that a door has: separating spaces, moments and situations; So for the name, a Latin word was sought that literally means “door”, however, history is giving us deeper meanings for the brand.
When developing the conceptual investigation we find Janus who is the Greek god of doors, not only in a physical sense, but also in a vital sense. He is the god of changes, steps and transformations, that is why doors and thresholds are consecrated to him. And what is the door of our space if not a portal of change? We went from the chaos of daily life, work and traffic to our sanctuary of peace and rest, so this figure was ideal for the development of this visual identity.
With this direction, an isotype based on Greek imagery and the representation of Janus is elaborated; this came along with a logo written in a consistent and cohesive typography written in lowercase to balance and make a close mark. The selection of colors and finishes for the material to be produced, ends up closing the concept of quality and elegance that the brand needs to provide; and descriptive elements such as the tagline and other information accompanying this identity are added to efficiently communicate the company’s line of business.
