Bashkirian honey is a world-famous natural product that has long been the standard of quality in Russia and beyond. Honey is a rich source of vitamins and minerals. It’s beneficial effect on the human organism is time-tested and confirmed by scientific research. Of all the types of this product that exist in the world, Bashkirian honey is considered as one of the best. The combination of unique ecological and climatic conditions of Bashkiria and the diversity of flora has a significant impact on the taste, composition and benefits of the product. The popularity of bashkirian honey has led to an expanded fakes production. In consequence, the interest in bashkirian honey began to decrease. As a result the beekeeping institute decided to rehabilitate this product via new design. By analyzing the cultural traditions of this region, during the development of the packaging design, I have created a pixelated design style, which in my opinion stands for unifying factors between the existing product since immemorial time and the modern world. Visualization of traditional ornaments in the packaging style convinces the customer of the originality of specified product. Considering the fact of different sorts of honey existence, I created individual pictograms and a different color of label for each of the kind. The significant elements of my packaging design are pixel rhombuses which reflect the cultural traditions of Bashkiria and the product name is indicated in the same style over the designed geometry, moreover the stripes on the edges of the labels reflect the framing of a bashkirian carpet. Following this bright designed idea, the product will be noticed on the store shelves and will delight as a healthy souvenir as well. The design of this product implies different forms of packaging: sticks, cans and a gift set by the taste and choice of the consumer.
