Day By Day is an interior design studio founded in 2015, based in Taipei, Taiwan. The Studio dedicated to space design and project supervision. From coffee shops, offices of startup companies to art galleries, Day By Day carried out a lot of experience on residential and commercial spaces. With an attitude of truth and sincerity, the studio focuses on being careful to client needs to present everyone’s day-to-day space experience in the most appropriate appearance each time while entering in a different field.
The naming of the studio is initially related to the Chinese word “Chang” of the name of the owner, but the brand image recognition became relatively complete when the English name came up. The name “Day By Day” tends to make people associate the brand identity with a image full of light and cordial feeling, a place to transform our imaginations into life spaces where all activities take place in the most comfortable way.
A minimal and neat style was applied as the direction of visual identity design, in order to shape the original brand core: pure, comfortable and balanced space with imagination. The main identity is a logotype constructed with simple line strokes, which directly presents the complete image of the brand.
The logomark is based on the structure of the Chinese character “Chang” with integration of the concept of “Day”, to extend a combination of line and space as symbol. The square and octagon symbolize the uniqueness of the repeating words “Day”, meaning every day is a refreshing day. With the design method of balanced proportions and overlapping elements, the space between the strokes of character “Chang” is preserved as the main visual, to picture a process of transformation from the primary state (square) to a designed shape (octagon).
