Unknown Knowns a Book Created to Help People to Identify Criminal Behaviour

Unknown Knowns a Book Created to Help People to Identify Criminal Behaviour

Imagine you are walking late at night on the street with no people in sight. Then you hear footsteps behind you. Would you walk faster or even run since you fear the person behind you? Or would you consider the person as a harmless person like you and slow your walk to the same speed? This book is not created to tediously arrange a list of dreadful crimes. It is a book created to help people to identify criminals by looking and observing their behaviours.

According to cognitive neuroscientists, we are conscious of only about 5 percent of our cognitive activity, so most of our decisions, actions, emotions, and behavior depends on the 95 percent of brain activity that goes beyond our conscious awareness. Be a detective and identify if the person sitting next to you at the coffee shop is an innocent customer or some kind of a criminal—like a serial killer.

This is a student project that was produced at ArtCenter College of Design under the guidance of Tracey Shiffman in her Communication Design 3 class. The publication has been printed for personal use only. Akzidenz-Grotesk was used for title typefacee and and Courier was used for body text.
