Omdesign, a 100% Portuguese advertising agency, created and produced the entire packaging for the famous “Waterloo Vintage 1815”, which was aged for two centuries in the Porto Ferreira cellars in Vila Nova de Gaia.
The packaging is unique, exclusive and highly luxurious, made with silver, exotic wood and natural leather. Inside of this totally handcrafted packaging there is a bottle of Porto Ferreira Vintage 1815, accompanied by a book and a certificate, which enhances the authenticity of this rarity.
This special edition was auctioned in the Tower of London, by Sotheby’s, in 2015 and went down in history as the most expensive Vintage ever auctioned. All of the profits went to APELA (the Portuguese amyotrophic lateral sclerosis association). This auction confirms the solidarity of Sogrape, the company that owns the Porto Ferreira brand, in line with the values and essence of the brand which has shown deep social and charitable concerns since its origin, once that these kind of causes were always advocated by the founder – Dona Antónia Adelaide Ferreira.
The “Waterloo Vintage 1815”, thus named by English “connoisseurs”, is an extraordinary wine and one of the oldest Ports known. It was produced in the same year that the 1st Duke of Wellington defeated Napoleon’s army at the Battle of Waterloo.
This Port has already been marketed under the “Luxury of Time” concept and identity, entirely designed by Omdesign, reflecting the new and exclusive luxury positioning that Porto Ferreira took as inspiration, having the patience to wait to launch it on the market.
