The Perch by Grant Studio: A Modular Identity for a New Kind of Living Space

The Perch by Grant Studio: A Modular Identity for a New Kind of Living Space

Residential branding often stops at lifestyle aspiration, polished amenities, neutral palettes, and broad promises of modern living. The Perch takes a different approach. It begins not with space, but with people, and builds a brand that reflects how they actually live, work, and create.

Located in Port Moody, The Perch is designed as a home base for makers, doers, and dreamers. Artists, entrepreneurs, and innovators who see where they live as an extension of what they do. The challenge was not just to brand a building, but to create an identity that could hold that energy. Something vibrant, intentional, and deeply connected to both place and community.

The brand mirrors the building’s core tension, industrial meets organic. Drawing from Port Moody’s creative pulse and natural surroundings, the identity blends raw materials and warm textures with a sense of refinement and clarity. It feels grounded, but never static. There is movement built into it, an energy that reflects the people it is designed for.

At the center of the system is a custom modular wordmark built from a balance of soft curves and structured, square forms. This interplay creates a visual language that feels both expressive and architectural. It reflects the dual nature of the space itself, where creativity meets structure and ideas take shape. The brandmark carries this idea further, a bird form designed to fit seamlessly within the same modular system, symbolizing both place and perspective. It suggests a point of pause, a place to land, and a platform to take off from.

Colour plays a critical role in defining the brand’s presence. Vibrant orange and purple inject energy and optimism, while a grounded palette of brown, cream, navy, and green roots the identity in warmth and nature.

This sense of balance continues across typography, layout, and messaging. The system is bold and expressive, but always intentional. It avoids the clichés of creative living in favour of something more honest and lived in. The tone is confident and clear, reinforcing the idea that The Perch is not just a place to live, but a place to build from.

Beyond the visual identity, the brand extends across print, social, and web, creating a cohesive ecosystem that supports both recognition and community. Every touchpoint works together to position The Perch as more than a residence. It becomes a shared platform where collaboration happens naturally and creativity is part of daily life.

What makes The Perch compelling is its point of view. It recognizes that today’s residents are not just looking for space. They are looking for alignment. A place that reflects their ambition, their pace, and their way of living.

The Perch answers that with a brand that feels as real as the people it represents. Bold, dynamic, and grounded in authenticity. It does not just give people a place to land. It gives them a place to grow.

Because at its best, a home is not just where you live. It is where you build what comes next.
