This textile design is the latest fashion related project from the Spanish graphic designer Mario Carpe based in Prague, Czech Republic. He was commissioned by La Muda Club, a company which changes the traditional way when purchasing male underwear. La Muda allows clients get high-quality underwear by subscription made in Spain and surprising them with new designs and different artists every time.

The pattern design named as ‘Voyeur’ is based on eyes of different styles because this underwear deserved to catch all the attention. The eyes and the way someone looks are very inspiring because probably is the most communicative part of the human body. For me, the eyes are the gate to the soul, although in this case they are surrounding the entrance to another dimension.

The pattern design was created from scratch, starting with manual work in pencil, ink, and a sketch book, trying different options, shapes, strokes and ways of placing the different elements on the reserved space for it. After selecting the winner option I worked digitally with a MacBook Pro and Adobe Creative Cloud. Adobe Illustrator was the main tool to create the pattern and explore the colour schemes and Adobe Photoshop to see the different options on mockups. Different color combinations were tested on the computer and discussed with the client until the desired result was reached for the textile design. Despite being a digital work, it was applied a certain effect to it so that it wouldn’t lose that manual effect that I wanted to keep.
