Modern design tells of a primitive, rural land-Sardinia. For the Tenute Vignola project, we looked to Nuragic Art, a window to the past and this island’s first major contribution to world art. We were particularly inspired by Nuragic bronzes, bronze statuettes made between the Bronze and Iron Ages, which served as votive offerings. We were struck by the extreme simplicity of these objects, translated, on Tenute Vignola’s labels, into pure forms and primary colors. Portal to a road, hypothetically infinite, of forms that are always different and yet always recognizable as part of a single identity. Indeed, in what appears to be a work of extreme synthesis, the presence of the elements that characterized the works that inspired us remains constant and recognizable. Here then appear, ancient and new at the same time, shields, headdresses, cloaks and weapons. In the shield, the Sardinian proverb “in su binu sa veridade” (in wine the truth) is always repeated to further emphasize the strong territorial identity of this wine and this island.
