Song Yuan Tang is a brand that sells different kinds of ingredient packs of Chinese desserts. The name Song-Yuan Tang was inspired by the main product – Tang Yuan (Glutinous Rice Ball) Baking Kit. Tang Yuan is invented during Song Dynasty and the traditional name of this dessert is ‘ fú yuán zǐ ‘. Hence, the brand name has song yuan these two words. The brand’s mission is to make products able to unite family members so the word ‘ Tang’ in Chinese means the place for people to gather.

The product name ‘ 浮元庆宵 ‘ (fú yuán qìng xiāo), have the meaning of using Tang Yuan dessert to celebrate the Lantern Festival.
Over time, the younger generation has forgotten the origin of some traditional festivals and their customs. Most of the time, we will discard the festive packaging because it does not have any function.
This tang yuan baking kit is to provide an easy step for the young parent to make Tang Yuan with children. The idea of the packaging comes from the oldest storytelling way—the puppet show. The packaging can be reused as a stage for the family to experience telling the legend story of the lantern festival.
