This is a personal self-promotion project by Stefanie Twellmann // Graphics & Illustration. The objective was to announce her office’s summer break in a unique and engaging manner, transforming it into an unforgettable experience. The aim was to create an illustration that not only conveyed the essential information about the summer break but also stirred a sense of anticipation and daydreaming among her clients. She wanted her clients to mentally immerse themselves in a relaxed summer environment, even if they couldn’t be on vacation physically. With this vision in mind, she set out to create an artwork that captured the essence of a tranquil poolside resort.

The centerpiece of this project is a meticulously designed isometric vector illustration. It features a computer keyboard, but there’s a charming twist – one of the keys is missing. In its place, a captivating microcosm unfolds. This miniature world is an idyllic pool scene with crystal-clear water, lush greenery, and inviting seating and lounging areas. It exudes relaxation and tranquility, giving the feeling of being by the pool on a sunny day.

As the viewer zooms into this digital oasis, a delightful surprise comes into view. Resting on a towel is a book titled “Summer Break.” Upon closer examination, a yellow post-it note on the book cover reveals the date when the office’s summer break ends.

The artwork was created for client communication and was part of a mailing campaign. Additionally, it found its place on social media, generating enthusiasm and interaction among the online audience. The artwork was implemented as a static version with various format adaptations and as an animated version.

The project’s goal was to transport viewers into a world of relaxation and serenity, even if just for a brief moment. The illustration manages to evoke the sensory experience of a sunny afternoon by the pool. Viewers can almost smell the enticing aroma of poolside French fries and sense a faint hint of chlorine in the air. This is a testament to the power of visual storytelling and how carefully crafted art can evoke emotions and experiences.
