University of Minnesota – Twin Cities – Roaring Dan’s Rum Punch Influencer Kit

“Lake Michigan’s history holds the infamous legend of Captain “Roaring” Dan Seavey, the only pirate of the Great Lakes. His greatest exploit was the theft of the Nellie Johnson in Grand Haven, Michigan. He boarded the schooner with a large amount of rum, intoxicated the crew, and then heaved them overboard. He took the ship and all of its cargo. Three flavors of rum punch – honeycrisp apple, thorny blackberry, and wild strawberry – were inspired by Seavey’s story. This is a drink for those who work hard but play harder: the swashbucklers, scoundrels, and seafarers of the world. These influencer kits are meant to be distributed (preferably in person, but also by mail, as they fit in a standard U.S. Postal Service shipping box) to magazines, food writers, upscale bars, and popular restaurants in the Midwest in order to get them talking and convince them to start carrying the product. The influencer kit includes all three flavors, two wood-engraved coasters, temporary tattoos, a bandana, small photos, and a telegraph “from” Dan himself. It’s packaged neatly in a dark wood box with rope-wrapped handles.”
