Student Group Identity Project for a Network of Kiosks Selling Dried Seeds with Spices

Hi, this is our identity project for a network of kiosks selling dried seeds with spices. Dried sunflower seeds are one of the favorite snacks in Russia. They seem to immerse a person in nirvana. But, unfortunately, the snack cannot be eaten in public places, because they may think that you are an old-fashioned or uncultured person.

I wanted to create a brand that could break this stereotype. Therefore, I chose the metaphor of balance as a symbol of the East and harmony, which gives a completely different view of this product in Russia.

The naming of the brand —OM— was chosen because we often perceive meditation with the sound “oooooom”. And when we want to convey a sound, when we eat something, we say “am-am” or “om-om”. And in order to convey the concept of identity even in the logo, I animated it so that the letters began to balance and finally settled down.

The slogan of our company was the phrase: “Nirvana at a click.” Since eating dried sunflower seeds is accompanied by a characteristic crackling of the husk.
Bright colors symbolize spices. And the compositions of seeds remind us of those moments when we sit on the beach and build pyramids of pebbles. In these moments we are calm and balanced. Or when we are sitting at the desk at school or at work and we get bored, we begin to design shapes with objects at hand, and again we find ourselves in a state of harmony and peace.

Many thanks to Tomorrow’s set Today and Nikita Kanarev for providing the Archaism font. It was chosen because he has the right degree of strangeness, revealing the idea and idea of the project.
