The visual identity was developed for the Forest Folk Festival FFF — an international cultural event that highlights the diversity and depth of modern folk music while placing special emphasis on its contemporary, experimental sound. The festival brings together musicians and bands from a wide range of electro-folk directions, blending traditional motifs with innovative electronic production, creating a space where heritage and technology meet in a harmonious dialogue.
At the heart of the visual communication lies the symbolic image of an ancient fir tree, chosen not only as a key element of forest mythology but also as a metaphor for endurance, memory, and the organic connection between generations. This fir tree is paired with a dynamic sound wave that runs through the composition, forming a visual rhythm reminiscent of a musical equalizer embedded within the natural landscape. The combination suggests that the forest itself becomes a living instrument, resonating with the music performed on stage.
The graphic wave element is not static — it transforms depending on the style, character, and energy of each performing artist. Softer, fluid forms appear for atmospheric and melodic acts, while sharper, more angular variations emerge for performers with a powerful, percussive sound. As a result, every concert within the festival gains its own visual “voice,” reinforcing the individuality of the musicians while maintaining a unified stylistic framework.
This adaptive system ensures that the visual identity remains flexible yet cohesive, supporting the festival’s mission to celebrate modern interpretations of folk culture through sound, design, and environment.
